Kilkenny’s leading chiropractic clinic
Clinic History
Kilkenny Chiropractic Clinic was founded in 1994 by Dr. Mary Sheedy, Kilkenny’s first chiropractor. A dedicated and passionate practitioner, Dr. Mary provided chiropractic care to the community for over 30 years, until her very sad and untimely passing in June 2024.
In September 2024, Dr. John Osborne became the new owner and lead practitioner of Kilkenny Chiropractic Clinic, bringing with him 24 years of experience and a long-standing membership with the Chiropractic Association of Ireland.
Together with Helen and Noelle, Dr. John is committed to continuing the exceptional care and service that Dr. Mary provided to the community. He looks forward to welcoming you at your next visit to the clinic.

Dr. John Osborne DC MSc.
CHIROPRACTOR
Dr. John graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth, England, in 2000. After returning to Ireland, he practiced in Naas, Co. Kildare, and his hometown of Dublin from 2000 to 2008, before establishing Osborne Chiropractic in Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
For the past 16 years, he has lived and practiced in Clonmel with his wife, Marie, who is also a chiropractor. Together, they have two teenage sons.
A firm believer in personal growth, Dr. John is dedicated to becoming the best version of himself, which reflects in his caring demeanour at the clinic. He travels extensively to chiropractic conferences all over the world to work with the best in the profession.
Outside of his chiropractic practice, you can often find him tackling his next creative DIY project. Dr. John is skilled with his hands, bringing that talent to both his chiropractic work and various projects around the home and clinic. Be sure to look out for any new additions to the clinic - they’re likely to be his handiwork!

Helen Bambrick C.A.
CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT
Helen has been an integral part of our clinic for the past 15 years, working closely with our beloved founder, Dr. Mary, during that time. As our chiropractic assistant, Helen is the friendly face that greets you at the door, answers your calls, and schedules your appointments. She takes great pride in helping our patients on their journey to recovery.
For Helen, one of the most rewarding aspects of her role is witnessing the transformation of patients - seeing them walk in with pain and, over time, regain their health and wellbeing. Over the years, Helen has formed lasting friendships with many of the people who have passed through our doors. She considers it a privilege to be part of their healing process.
Outside of work, Helen is a proud Tullaroan woman and a passionate hurling fan, cheering on both her local team and the Kilkenny squad with her family. And if you’re a fellow hurling enthusiast, you’ll appreciate why she named her Jack Russell, Mossy!

Noelle Bambrick C.A.
CHIROPRACTIC ASSISTANT
Noelle joined our clinic in March 2024, bringing with her 12 years of experience working in a veterinary clinic. Much like her previous role, Noelle’s work here is rooted in care and compassion. As our chiropractic assistant, she welcomes patients with a smile, takes appointments, and ensures everyone feels comfortable from the moment they walk through our doors.
One of the things Noelle loves most about chiropractic care is seeing the transformation in patients. Seeing people arrive in so much discomfort and watching them improve, moving with greater ease and returning to their true selves, is the most rewarding part of her job - it’s truly a privilege to witness. She finds it incredibly rewarding to know that her role helps in their journey toward better health.
Outside of work, Noelle is an avid GAA and Kilkenny hurling fan, with her son playing for the local John Locke's team in Callan. She’s also passionate about sea swimming and regularly heads to Tramore with her husband for a refreshing dip. Noelle finds that swimming helps clear her mind and serves as a great reset.
As a mother, Noelle is embracing a new phase in life. With her children no longer needing to be driven around, she’s excited for the next chapter of their lives and is finding more time to enjoy her own hobbies like reading, knitting, and crocheting.
What to expect on your first visit.
We understand that visiting a new clinic for the first time can be a bit intimidating, which is why we strive to create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
One of our friendly chiropractic assistants, Helen or Noelle, will greet you and guide you through the initial visit.
You’ll start by completing a brief form before having a one-on-one consultation with Dr. John. During this time, he will discuss your health goals, concerns, and any questions you might have.
Next, Dr. John will conduct a chiropractic exam that includes posture analysis, blood pressure checks, reflex assessments, range of motion evaluations, and an examination of your spinal health.
Once the exam is complete, we’ll review your results to see if chiropractic care is suitable for you. If it is, we’ll develop a personalised care plan to begin on your next visit, aimed at helping you achieve your health goals efficiently.
Your first visit typically lasts between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your individual needs.
FAQs
What is chiropractic care?
At Kilkenny Chiropractic Clinic we’re dedicated to providing natural, drug-free chiropractic care. Practiced for over a century, chiropractic care is rooted in the understanding that the body possesses its own remarkable ability to heal, regulate, and maintain health. People around the world turn to chiropractic as a trusted healthcare option to support recovery, boost well-being, and embrace life’s full potential.
How long does a chiropractic session usually last?
Your first visit typically takes 45 minutes to an hour, with a full consultation and examination. During your second visit (about 30 minutes), we’ll review your results and recommended a care plan. Once you’re ready, Dr. John will guide you through your first adjustment.
Regular follow-up visits are much quicker, usually around 15–20 minutes. We value your time and work to keep all appointments on schedule.
What conditions do we see at our clinic?
We take care of people with; disc issues, headaches, hip pain, lower back pain, neck pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, colic, digestive concerns, pregnancy-related discomfort, sleep disturbances, and stress.
Does insurance cover chiropractic care?
Yes, many health insurance plans offer coverage for chiropractic care, but the level of coverage can differ. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to clarify your specific benefits, as the amount you can claim will depend on your individual health insurance plan.
How do chiropractors perform adjustments?
In our clinic we use two main techniques to deliver adjustments: the Diversified technique, which involves hands-on, manual adjustments, and the Activator® method, an instrument-assisted approach. These techniques allow us to provide safe and effective care tailored to each patient’s needs, whether they’re children, adults, or seniors. Each adjustment approach is chosen based on the individual’s condition, comfort level, and age, ensuring a personalised path toward better alignment and overall health.
Can chiropractic care be combined with other forms of healthcare?
Chiropractic care can often complement other forms of treatment, such as physical therapy, massage therapy, or medical interventions. Chiropractors may collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop a comprehensive and integrated care plan tailored to the individual's needs.
